Experiencia #15 - Fer Ola

Conocí la casa-museo de Buffo durante mis vacaciones de verano de 2018, a instancia de mi pareja, que no la conocía y quería ir.

Cuando escuché "Capilla de Buffo", pensé que sería una más de las tantas capillas serranas que hay, todas muy similares entre sí y fui sin ninguna expectativa, más por acompañar que otra cosa.

Cuando llegamos, por fuera ya me encontré con una apariencia original pero aún ignoraba lo que conocería minutos más tarde.

La visita guiada comenzó por la casa, con sus muebles originales, obviamente antiguos. Cuando el guía describió a Buffo y sus múltiples talentos e intereses recién empecé a prestar atención.

Nos mostró cómo basaba sus diseños arquitectónicos en la forma de ciertas plantas, cómo también jugaba con la posición del sol y las estrellas respecto a ciertas formas en las construcciones. Para ese momento ya estaba fascinada y cuando entramos a la capilla quedé impactada por todo: los murales, las luceras y el hecho de que en el día del fallecimiento de su mujer su rostro quedara iluminado, la posición de las estrellas recreada en el suelo, los péndulos, la acústica del lugar que pudimos comprobar nosotros mismos raspando las suelas contra el piso, en fin...

El lugar donde el humanismo se convierte en magia... Todo ese humanismo que combina el saber con lo bello y que para mí era inimaginable que existiera en nuestras sierras.

Generalmente pensamos que todo lo maravilloso es inmenso en tamaño y está en el extranjero. Es una de las visitas que recomiendo a todo el que viene para la zona y sin dudas una de mis top 10.

I got to know the Buffo´s house-museum during my summer vacation in 2018, at the request of my partner, who didn't know it and wanted to go.

When I heard "Buffo´s Chapel", I thought that it would be one of the many mountain chapels that there are, all very similar to each other and I went without any expectations, more to accompany than anything else.

When we arrived, on the outside I already found an original appearance but I was still unaware of what I would know minutes later.

The guided tour began with the house, with its original, obviously old furniture. When the guide described Buffo and his many talents and interests, I just started to pay attention.

He showed us how he based his architectural designs on the shape of certain plants, how he also played with the position of the sun and stars with respect to certain shapes in buildings. By that time I was already fascinated and when we entered the chapel I was struck by everything: the murals, the lights and the fact that on the day of the death of his wife, his face will be illuminated, the position of the stars recreated on the ground, the pendulums, the acoustics of the place that we could check ourselves by scraping the soles against the floor…

The place where humanism becomes magic... All that humanism that combines knowledge with beauty and that for me it was unimaginable that it existed in our mountains.

We generally think that everything wonderful is immense in size and is abroad. It is one of the visits that I recommend to everyone who comes to the area and without a doubt one of my top 10.
